Beware the lungs
The human body is, by far, the most amazing and complex "tool" that men have and, by all means, the most powerful and intelligent too. This tool has helped our way to what the human form, mentally and physically, and its environment are like today.
The lungs are organs that belong to the Respiratory System and play the wonderful role of letting us breathe by receiving oxygen and releasing carbon dioxide. A cycle that allows every other system of the human body to do their work. A big responsibility for 285 to 393 cc, which is, typically the size of women's lungs at rest, while men can hold around 750 cubic centimeters.
As any other organ, there are many illnesses and conditions that can affect the lungs and its normal functioning. An example is Asthma (also called reactive airway disease) a lung disease that makes the passageways in the organ to become inflamed, difficulting the breath process.
Also, let's not forget that no. 1 cause of deaths in the United States for men and women is lung cancer whose symptoms are coughing blood, shortness of breath, chest pains, headaches and more.
For a good lung health, it's important to avoid cigarettes smokes. The chemical compounds of cigarettes smoke can damage the cells within the lungs and increases the risk of lung cancer. Also, it's important to exercise our lungs as the Rush University Medical Center suggests by practicing deep breathings. And do not forget to stay hydrated!
So, let's maintain our lungs healthy!
